Traditional Czech Cuisine

National Czech cuisine is a combination of ancient recipes, a feature of the geographical location and the influence of the cuisines of neighboring countries on it. The main feature is simplicity and calorie content.

Czech dumplings
are the most famous dish that is prepared both on weekdays and for celebrations. They are used as a side dish, as an appetizer with butter and garlic. Classic dumplings are made from: yeast, flour, water, salt, milk and sugar. Bramborak is another interesting dish, without which it is difficult to imagine the Czech table. The recipe contains: onions, potatoes, eggs, flour, dark beer. As seasonings use: marjoram, black pepper. The main ingredient of this dish is smoked breast, which creates an unusual taste. Flatbreads are fried in vegetable oil and served with fat sour cream.


First courses are quite popular, especially vegetable and meat soups. Bean soup in the Czech Republic is made from: red beans, onions, potatoes, water, tomatoes, carrots. Sausages are used as an additional ingredient. As spices complement: thyme, black pepper, paprika, garlic, parsley. The result is a delicious, hearty dish with a spicy taste and unusual aroma.

Pork knuckle
is a festive dish that is invariably present on the festive table. For its preparation, almost nothing is used, except for: meat, onions, carrots, salt and water. This is a simple dish that practically does not require the participation of the hostess. You just need to be patient and find some time. And then you can enjoy a delicious dish with a pronounced aroma.


In the Czech Republic, they love and often prepare all kinds of pastries. Ducat buns are a delicious dish that always appears during tea drinking. The recipe contains the following components: milk, yeast, eggs, sugar, corn starch, flour. As a filling, a cream is prepared from: cream, honey, butter, cottage cheese. As an addition, use: rum and vanilla. The result is a delicious dough with a delicate crust and airy cream.
