The most famous museums in Brussels and Amsterdam

There are people who do not like to stay too long and they seek to diversify their trips abroad. A great opportunity is to book a tour in two countries, for example, to Belgium and the Netherlands.

Those who like to travel by car usually book a car in Belgium online in advance. At Charleroi Brussels, renting a compact car will cost from 18 euros per day, and at Zaventem Airport a little more expensive - from 21 euros per day. Prices may vary depending on the season, car class and rental period.

Brussels, the capital of Belgium, has been known since the Middle Ages. Thanks to the richest collections of the Royal Museums, the city is today known as the largest European cultural center. The exposition of the Museum of Fine Arts contains paintings by Rembrandt, Brueghel, Rubens and many other great painters. The Museum of Modern Art is relatively young - it is not yet 30 years old, but its collection is also worthy of admiration, since it contains paintings by both contemporary Belgian artists and world-famous painters: Rene Magritte, Marcel Bruthaers, Marc Chagall, Andy Warhol.

Other metropolitan museums are no less famous: the exposition of the Royal Institute of Natural History presents the skeletons of gigantic herbivorous lizards that inhabited the planet millions of years ago. And the museum of musical instruments boasts the largest collection of various instruments in Europe, the number of which has long exceeded 6 thousand. Attracts the attention of guests of the city and the museum of chocolate. Remarkably, entrance to the museum and tasting of various exhibits are completely free.

Amsterdam is not far behind Brussels in terms of the number of famous museums. The most visited museum in the capital of the Netherlands is the Rijksmuseum. It is located in a quiet charming corner on the banks of one of the canals of the old city. The museum was once founded by the brother of Napoleon Bonaparte, Louis Bonaparte. Today it contains the richest collection of paintings by the masters of the Golden Age of the Netherlands, which has no analogues. But tourists from many countries come here, not only to see the works of Vermeer, Pieter de Hooch, Frans Hals and many other masters, but to admire one of the works by Rembrandt presented here - The Night Watch.

The second place in terms of attendance after the famous Rijksmuseum is occupied by a modest house on Princesgracht Street, at number 263. During the war, a Jewish girl, whose name is known to the whole world today, Anne Frank, hid in it with her family from the German invaders. Her diary has now been translated into many languages, and the house is now not only a museum, but also a research center for the study of the Holocaust. Without a doubt, every tourist visiting Amsterdam cannot but visit Madame Tussauds. Its exposition includes several parts: events and street scenes from the life of famous personalities of the Golden Age, a room of horrors and a hall of celebrities.
