Rome - every tourist must know
Rome is not just the capital of Italy, it is an amazing ancient city that has preserved a huge number of ancient artifacts that allow you to get an idea of the great Roman Empire, get acquainted with its heritage.
Car rental in advance in Italy is profitable. You can compare rates online and receive up to 70% discount for rental. For example, rental a compact class car in Rome costs 11 euros a day, in Milan - nearly 15 euros per day.
There are so many sights here that it will take more than one week to see them (not to mention a detailed study). It is another matter that a rare tourist has so much time in his arsenal. As a rule, he has no more than a week at his disposal (and this is still ideal), for which there is so much to do!
In order not to waste time in vain, we recommend that you make a list of attractions that you would like to see necessarily. Then a detailed plan should be created, in which one or another museum is assigned to each of the days.
Of course, everyone has their own preferences, but there are places that you should definitely visit in Rome. Let's list the main ones:
1. Colosseum. This is a kind of symbol of the Ancient City, images of which are found everywhere here. The arena is put on their canvases by street artists, it is on magnets, T-shirts, mugs, key chains, etc. If you want to see the Colosseum from the outside, head to Piazza Venezia and walk around the museum for a wonderful view of the ruins from the hill. From here you can walk to the arena. To get inside, you will have to buy a ticket, having previously stood in a queue, which is quite impressive during the season.
2. Capitoline Museums. They are also located on Venice Square. Visiting them is a must for everyone who cannot imagine their travels without getting to know the historical heritage of the city being examined.
3. Vatican. You can only get to the Vatican when accompanied by an organized group, individual tourists are not allowed there. But even without this, an independent state provides many opportunities for obtaining vivid impressions. To get started, be sure to visit St. Peter's Basilica. Take the time and money to climb its dome. Then we recommend visiting the Vatican Museums on a separate day. Be prepared to queue up. The waiting time in the season is calculated in hours, but it is worth it. The famous Sistine Chapel, the statue of Apollo Belvedere and Aphrodite, Raphael's Stanza - these are just a few of what you will see when you visit the Vatican Museums.
Rome is a special and amazing city. A huge number of grocery shops and small cozy cafes are found here at every step. But large shopping centers, supermarkets, dentistry and hairdressing salons will have to be looked for on purpose. Just walking along the streets, you are unlikely to stumble upon them. At least they are not common.
But playgrounds come across here almost at every step. So, when traveling with children, be prepared to take frequent breaks in walking, because a rare child will resist the temptation to master a sports complex or slide down a hill. Playgrounds in Rome are very interesting, and most importantly, completely safe. True, this is a completely different story.
