The city centre inside the A4540 Middleway ring road is a Clean Air Zone. Most modern hire cars meet the standard, but check before you drive in.
Heading north towards Stoke or Manchester, the M6 Toll is a paid alternative to the often congested M6 around Birmingham.
The free Air-Rail Link connects the terminal with Birmingham International station - handy if part of your group arrives by train.
